Processor

Enjoy incredible performance from fourth-generation Intel Core processors. Choose the speed and processor you want.

MacBook Air is powered by fourth-generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors. The standard models include the dual-core Intel Core i5 at 1.4GHz with Turbo Boost speeds up to 2.7GHz. Or choose the optional dual-core Intel Core i7 processor for 1.7GHz of processing power and Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.3GHz. In addition, these processors are much more power efficient, which means you’re able to do all the things you love to do on a computer for longer than ever — up to 9 hours between battery charges with the 11-inch MacBook Air and up to 12 hours with the 13-inch model.*

*Battery life varies by use and configuration; see www.apple.com/batteries for more information.

Macbook Air memory Memory

More memory (RAM) increases overall performance and enables your computer to run more applications at the same time.

The more memory your computer has, the more programs you can run simultaneously, and the better performance you'll get from your computer. Increasing the amount of memory in your MacBook Air is an easy way to improve performance.

How much memory is right for you?
Choose the standard memory to support day-to-day tasks, such as email, word processing and web browsing, as well as more complex tasks, such as editing photos, creating illustrations and building complex presentations.
MacBook Air uses one of the fastest memory technologies available today - 1600MHz, Low-Power Double Data Rate 3 (LPDDR3), synchronous, dynamic, random-access memory (SDRAM) - ensuring that the Intel dual-core i5 or i7 processor is constantly fed with data without wasting clock cycles.

Every MacBook Air comes with 4GB of memory built into the system. If you feel you may need 8GB in the future, it is important to upgrade at the time of purchase, as RAM is not upgradeable in this model.

macbook Air Storage Storage

Your MacBook Air comes standard with flash storage. Flash storage has no moving parts and provides faster responsiveness and enhanced durability.
The larger the capacity of your flash storage, the more space is available to store your documents, photos, music, videos, apps and more. Because flash storage is up to nine times faster than a conventional hard drive, everything you do is more responsive — browsing a large photo library, launching applications, opening files and waking MacBook Air from sleep, for instance. And flash storage doesn’t have any moving parts, which means it’s more reliable and quiet.

Keyboard Keyboard and Documentation

Configure your MacBook Air with the following keyboard language options along with the language of the included user documentation.

Your MacBook Air can be configured with the keyboard language options listed. The User’s Guide language will match that of the keyboard language chosen unless otherwise specified. OS X Mountain Lion is a multilingual operating system. During the setup process you can choose one of the many languages it supports for application menus and dialogs and to read and write text. OS X Mountain Lion also allows you to select your preferred language at any time using System Preferences.
